Flö
My senior thesis began with the desire to innovate PET felt for Maverick Concepts new sub-brand, Artizan. With research into spaces around the Auburn/ Opelika area to sketch concepting, the initial process lead me to 3 main concepts - all of which played with the diffusion of light. From there, working models, testing different scales, & considering materials developed directed me to my final concept presented here.
Flö is a PET felt acoustic dampening installation that utilizes dynamic motion to interact with light. The overall form uses both positive & negative space to create implied geometry in the installation. The final product can be used in many different contexts, but for the purpose of marketing for Artizan, it is suggested for open concept office spaces, high-end restaurants, & hotels.
Flö
Flö has two main goals: reducing noise while helping to define intimate space works. Most commonly, Flö works well in open concept office spaces for defining person desk space from common space, high-end restaurants as a noise reducing interactive element, & hotels for limiting or accessing light in place of clunky blinds.
